Obituary

Ann Syler, age 78, of Burton, wife of Matthew Syler passed away from complications from emphysema on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Triumph Health Care –Tomball, TX.

Gloria Ann Syler was born in Cameron, Texas on October 14, 1929 to Aileen Whittington and Jack D. Reeves. The Whittington Family was pioneers in Milam County and Ann spent many happy summers on the family farm near Val Verde, Texas.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Matt Syler of Burton; son Lee Bentley Syler of Burton; son Jeb Stuart Syler and wife Alma of San Jose, Costa Rica; daughter Melanie Willett and husband Tim of Plano, Texas; daughter Darla Pagan and husband Candido of Richmond, Texas; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; special friends Ms. Bettye Lowe, Carrie Marsh and long time family friend Maria Cerda.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Charles Matejowsky officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Val Verde Baptist Cemetery in Milam County with Jerry Groom officiating.
