Obituary
Amy Diane Furgiuele, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 54. Born on February 12, 1970, in Galveston, Texas, Amy was a light to everyone who knew her. From a young age, she was known for her deeply rooted faith, her warmth, and her sharp, inquisitive mind.
Amy was the cherished daughter of Susan Lynn Furgiuele and Dr. Terry Lee Furgiuele. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Jason Scott Furgiuele and his wife, Kelly, along with their children Kilian, Rowan, Kyleigh, and Finn; Amber Furgiuele and her husband, Tim Mathewson, and their son Maverick; and Amanda Furgiuele and her son, Gideon.
Throughout her life, Amy was devoted to her Catholic faith, dedicating much of her time to both her church and her community. She served with passion on the steering committee for Cursillo-TEC (Teens Encounter Christ), was a devoted Godmother, and was an active member in the Catholic church, where she was a guiding influence to many. She also proudly served on the City Council of West Peoria, Illinois, where she contributed her insights and care to the community.
Amy attended Villanova University, where she earned her BA in Art History and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She built her career as a Quality Assurance Analyst at Caterpillar, where she was widely respected for her dedication and excellence. Amy received multiple commendations, including recent recognition on the Awesome Materials Team for working above and beyond with the Morton Met Lab.
Amy’s creativity and vibrant spirit shone in her many hobbies and passions. She was a gifted artisan, finding joy in jewelry making, glass-blowing, jam-making, and gardening. With an analytical eye and a love of learning, she brought dedication and care to everything she touched. Her quick wit, love of wordplay, and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 105 Highway 1431 E. Marble Falls Texas, 78654. Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.
