Obituary
Alisa Elaine King, known as “Cookie” passed away November 6, 2024 with her family by her side.
Alisa's legacy is one of love, warmth, and dedication to her family. Born in Brenham on October 3, 1969 to Richard Charles and Juanita Mathis. She graduated from Brenham High School and attended Texas A&M where she pursued a passion for healthcare. Her spirit led her to own a private healthcare business, where she made a meaningful impact in her community. Her life took a beautiful turn when she met Donald King, Sr. and they married on February 14, 2001 in Brenham at their home. Together they were members of New Life Church of God. Alisa and Donald created countless cherished memories with their children, traveling across Texas and enjoying family gatherings at Silver Wings.
Alisa's infectious smile and pure heart brightened the lives of all who knew her. A devoted mother, she was her children's biggest supporter, providing unwavering encouragement and affection. Her love for cooking brought the family together, as she prepared delicious meals and made holidays special with her cooking. Sundays were a highlight for Alisa, as family gathered for meals after church, fostering a strong bond among her loved ones. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and they affectionately called her "Pooka." Alisa took great pleasure in spoiling them with love and attention, ensuring they always felt cherished before returning to their parents.
Alisa is preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and stepfather Lewis Wills, Sr.
Left to cherish her precious memory is husband Donald King, Sr.; children Rodney Watts, Jr., Courtney Watts, and Donald King, Jr.; grandchildren Joshari Wilson, Kaydence Watts, Brandon Martinez, Aysha Martinez, Brayon Pool; mother Juanita Wills; sisters Shameka (Brandon) Cloud; Shanera Wills; brother Lewis Wills Jr.; stepson Dashon King.
A visitation with family present will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
A funeral service will be Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00am at New Life Church of God, 1990 FM 389, Brenham, Texas 77833 with Pastor Albert Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearer will be Bobby Tarver, Wayne Tarver, Albert Wright, J.B. Wright, Marcus Mathis, and Fredrick Franklin. Honorary Pallbearers are Rodney Watts, Jr., Donald King, Jr., Brandon Cloud, Kelvin Mathis, Floyd Mathis Lewis Wills Jr. and Early B. Mathis
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the King Family.
